One of the cornerstone goals of the Caregiver Student Initiative at UCLA has been to enhance awareness and secure the engagement of both the university administration and the student body. Recognizing the importance of direct communication in achieving this, I took a proactive approach by frequently tabling at student orientation events. This strategic choice allowed me to meet face-to-face with new students and their families, providing a platform to share the unique challenges and needs of caregiving students. Through these interactions, I not only informed but also gathered invaluable feedback that shaped further development of our programs and resources, aiming to foster a more inclusive university environment.

To effectively communicate the essence and objectives of the Caregiver Student Initiative, I developed a suite of educational materials designed to resonate with a diverse student population. These resources were crafted to not only educate but also to evoke empathy and encourage active support from the wider campus community. From detailed pamphlets and engaging infographics to compelling testimonial videos, each piece was meticulously designed to convey the realities faced by caregiving students, highlighting how the university could play a pivotal role in their academic and personal success. These materials served as crucial tools in our ongoing campaign to build a supportive network that recognizes and addresses the unique pressures faced by students with caregiving responsibilities.
